Who runs this site
Infinity Junior Golf is published by Al, in Australia.
You can reach me at support@infinityjuniorgolf.com about anything on this
page, including a request to see or delete what the site holds about you.
The short version
I run a small golf blog, not a data business. I don’t sell anything about you, I
don’t run ad networks, and there’s no login. The site collects three kinds of
information: anonymous statistics about visits, whatever you type into a comment,
and whatever you send me by email.
Statistics about your visit
The site uses Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager. It records
things like which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came
from, what kind of device was used, and which site you arrived from. It sets
cookies in your browser to recognize a returning visit.
Google receives your IP address as part of this. Google’s own privacy policy
covers what they then do with it, and it’s at
policies.google.com/privacy.
I use this to see which articles people find useful. I never try to identify an
individual reader, and I have no way to.
Fonts
The site’s typefaces are loaded from Google’s font servers, which means your
browser contacts Google to fetch them and Google receives your IP address in the
process.
Comments
If you leave a comment, the site stores your name, your email address, any
website you give, the comment itself, your IP address, and your browser’s user
agent string. That’s WordPress’s standard behavior and it exists mainly to
catch spam.
If you tick “save my details”, cookies are set so you don’t have to type them
again next time. They last about a year.
Your email address, or rather a scrambled version of it, may be sent to the
Gravatar service to see whether you have a profile picture. Gravatar is run by
Automattic, and their privacy policy is at automattic.com/privacy.
Comments and their details stay until I remove them. Ask me and I’ll delete
yours.
If you email me, I keep the message so I can reply and so I have a record if the
same question comes up again. I don’t add you to any list, because there isn’t
one.
Affiliate links
Some links to retailers are affiliate links. If you click one, that retailer may
set a cookie in your browser so they can tell that you arrived from here, and
they may pay me a commission if you buy something.
What that retailer then collects is governed by their privacy policy, not this
one. I don’t receive your name, your address, your payment details, or anything
else about your purchase — only, at most, a note that a sale happened.
The affiliate disclosure explains the money side.
Cookies, in plain terms
| Set by | What for | Roughly how long |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Telling repeat visits from new ones | Up to 2 years |
| WordPress | Remembering your comment details, if you asked it to | About 1 year |
| Retailers you click through to | Attributing a sale | Varies, usually 24 hours to 90 days |
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them won’t stop
you reading anything here.
Children
This site is written for parents and coaches, not for children. I don’t knowingly
collect anything from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has left a comment
with personal details in it, email me and I’ll remove it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask what the site holds
about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, or to object to it being
used. That includes readers covered by the GDPR in the UK and EU, the CCPA in
California, and the Australian Privacy Principles.
You don’t need to prove which of those applies to you. Email
support@infinityjuniorgolf.com and I’ll do it.
Where the data goes
The site is hosted by Wealthy Affiliate (SiteRubix), whose servers are located in the United States. Google Analytics data is processed by Google, which may involve transfers outside your
country. As an Australian writing for a global readership, I’ve tried
to keep collection to the minimum that lets me run the site at all.
Changes
If this policy changes I’ll update the date at the top. If a change is
significant I’ll say so on the site rather than quietly editing the page.
