The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay me a small commission. It doesn’t cost you anything extra, and it doesn’t change what I recommend.
Where you’ll see them
Every article that contains affiliate links says so at the top, before you read anything. Individual links are marked in the page’s code as sponsored, which is what search engines expect.
You’ll find them mainly in gear articles, on the top picks page, and on shopping recommendations.
What I earn from, and what I don’t
Most links on this site earn nothing at all. Where I’m part of a retailer’s or brand’s program, a purchase made after clicking through may pay a commission, usually a small percentage of the sale.
I’m never paid to write a positive review, I don’t accept payment for placement on a list, and I don’t publish sponsored posts or paid links.
How this affects what I recommend
It doesn’t, and the structure of the site is built so it can’t easily start to.
Products go on a list because they’re the ones I’d suggest to another parent. Several things I recommend earn me nothing. Where two products are close and one pays and one doesn’t, the honest answer is that both go on the list and I say what separates them.
If a commission ever made me recommend something I wouldn’t otherwise, this site would stop being worth reading, and I’d rather it earned less.
What I can and can’t tell you about a product
This is the part most disclosures skip, and it matters more than the money.
I don’t buy every product I write about. What I have is sustained observation across a junior golf community — the same gear turning up season after season on different children — plus what parents and coaches tell me, plus manufacturers’ published specifications.
Each article makes clear which of those a claim rests on. The how we assess gear page explains it in full.
What the retailer knows about you
If you click an affiliate link, the retailer usually sets a cookie so they can tell you arrived from here. I don’t receive your name, address, payment details or anything about what you bought — at most, a note that a sale happened.
The privacy policy covers this.
